Merino Wool is natural, renewable and biodegradable and gentle on sensitive skins.
Merino Wool is naturally breathable, which means warm (even when wet) in winter and comfortably cool in summer. It also absorbs body moisture, is soft and non–irritating. This is very important for sensitive skin and babies who still have fragile temperature control at an early age.
Medical studies have shown that babies sleeping in or on Merino settle quicker, sleep longer, feed better, cry less and gain weight faster.
Merino Wool is naturally fire retardant, so not only is it protective, its not sprayed with any nasty chemicals.
Merino is resilient, meaning that your Merino piece is part of a slow fashion movement that will see a garment or blanket become a treasured heirloom and passed on through generations.
Our Ultra Fine, 19 Micron, Australian Merino is luxuriously soft and smooth. This is because our Merino fibres are long and fine, before they are spun and knit. The range is made in Brunswick, Melbourne in a family owned factory, first established in 1979.
“I’ve been working with babies for 30 years and one thing I have learned is that unless you make them really comfortable you won’t get the results you want,” Anne said.
“To be photographing with wool, which is such a natural, breathable, soft fibre is perfect for newborns and just worked for me in every way.” Anne Geddes
Our Merino Wool has the Woolmark Certification and the Australian Made Certification.
